French Dressing

 

Ingredients:

  1-1/2 quarts   Salad Oil
  1/2 quarts   Cider Vinegar
  1-1/2 Tbsp.   Salt
  1 tsp.   Black Pepper (fresh ground)
  1/2 Tbsp.   Sugar (optional)

 

Method:

  • Place all ingredients in a stainless steel bowl and whip until thorougly blended.
  • Let stand at least 2 hours before using. Let stand overnight for full flavor.
  • Shake or stir well each time before serving.

 

Variations:

 

Mustard French

  • Place 3/4 cups Dijon mustard, 2 cloves garlic, salt, pepper, and sugar in the stainless bowl, whisk in vinegar (this will avoid the formation of lumps), then whisk in oil.

 

Herb French

  • Add 2 tsp. marjoram, 2 tsp. basil, 1 clove chopped garlic, 1/4 cup chopped parsley to the original formula above.
