French Dressing
Ingredients:
| 1-1/2 quarts |
Salad Oil |
| 1/2 quarts |
Cider Vinegar |
| 1-1/2 Tbsp. |
Salt |
| 1 tsp. |
Black Pepper (fresh ground) |
| 1/2 Tbsp. |
Sugar (optional) |
Method:
- Place all ingredients in a stainless steel bowl and whip until thorougly blended.
- Let stand at least 2 hours before using. Let stand overnight for full flavor.
- Shake or stir well each time before serving.
Variations:
Mustard French
- Place 3/4 cups Dijon mustard, 2 cloves garlic, salt, pepper, and sugar in the stainless bowl, whisk in vinegar (this will avoid the formation of lumps), then whisk in oil.
Herb French
- Add 2 tsp. marjoram, 2 tsp. basil, 1 clove chopped garlic, 1/4 cup chopped parsley to the original formula above.
