OFFICIAL LAUNCH AND OPEN HOUSE

From Left, Chancellor Don Griffin, Professor Katryn Wiese, and Vice Chancellor Peter Goldstein cut the ribbon outside S45.
On Friday, April 3rd at 3 pm, 2009,
in the Science Building at City College of San Francisco,
we successfully launched and celebrated

The Story of Time and Life
an exhibit about the evolution of the universe,
the solar system, and life on Earth

After the launch, from 3-5 pm, we had an open house of the exhibit -- dinosaurs, murals, fossils, and more! -- with student volunteers spread throughout the building to answer questions and show hand samples of fossils and rocks.
We estimated about 200 people attended.

Chancellor Griffin appreciates how big ideas get implemented at City College, by people pulling together across campus, and no one saying "No."

Vice Chancellor Peter Goldstein says this project exemplifies the committment City College has to its students.

Katryn Wiese, Earth Sciences Professor (above), and Darrel Hess, Earth Sciences Department Chair (below), thank all the members of the City College community (and beyond) who helped pull this exhibit together.
