This walk is nearly complete! This walk not only contains historic information, but also demonstrates the connections among our Science Departments. It combines Astronomy and Physics in the presentation of the formation of the Universe through to Earth's formation. It combines Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, and Paleontology in the presentation of the development and evolution of life on Earth. It combines Chemistry, Geology, Geography, and Oceanography in the presentation of the evolution of Earth's Oceans, Atmosphere, and Crust. See Exhibit Content for more information.

Plan to attend our PUBLIC LAUNCH AND RECEPTION -- in the Spring 2009 -- after our exhibit is complete. See Reception for more information.

This display begins in the South Basement's Fossil Gallery with an introduction, guided maps, and the presentation of seven large vertebrate fossils, including four dinosaurs. The display continues, with a timeline, through the basement floor (through Earth Sciences and Engineering), the first floor (through Physics), the second floor (through Chemistry), and finally the third floor (through Biology). The display is set up as a continuous walk that tells a continuous story. See Exhibit Map for more information.

Benefits
With the installation of City College’s Story of Time and Life, our students and local San Franciscans – school children, teachers, college students, Mission Science Workshop, and community members – can come to the Science Building to see, interact with, and learn about this important story. This exhibit demonstrates how the Universe, our planet Earth, and its inhabitants evolved – and reviews the evidence that has helped scientists put this story together. As the only remaining location in the Bay Area with a physical display for this story, this exhibit is a great opportunity for CCSF to serve its students and the greater San Francisco community.
