
Tim
Berthold is the Chair of the Health Education and Community Health Studies
Department. Since he joined City College as a full-time Instructor in the Fall
of 2001, Tim has taught a variety of courses, including Health Science 33 and
53 (survey courses in health); Health 68: HIV/STD Outreach Skills, and Health
38: Trauma, Response and Recovery. Tim also assists with facilitation of the
Community Leadership Training Project, a program of the HIV/STD Education
Office. Tim has twenty years experience working with community-based health
and human rights projects and with diverse communities in the Bay Area as well
as in Central America, South Asia and Africa. Tim is interested in popular
education and motivated by the desire to educate and support CCSF students to
advocate for health and social justice in their own communities. Academic
training includes a B.A. from Brown University and an M.S.P.H. from Harvard
University.
