To Be The Right Type originated as a final design project
in our GRPH 53A Beginning Typography. It was continued in
GRPH 68 Design and Prepress Lab, where it was further edited
and prepared for press, and finally printed in the GRPH 72 Offset Press
Operations class. Several of the card designs will be published
in Spring of 2006, in a book about typographic principles. This project
is one example of the high quality of work produced by our
students, and the kinds of collaborations encouraged in our program.
Material for this project was borrowed from, and inspired by, Rob
Carter's Experimental Typography, RotoVision SA, 1997.
