Repetition

Beyond the obvious but functional task of letters and words repeating one another to deliver written messages, repetition is an important factor in the process of typographic exploration. As typographic elements are repeated, thoughts and ideas are not only heightened through redundancy and exaggeration, but also a distinct visual resonance occurs. Often, dynamic visual patterns result from letters, words, and lines of type that are repeated. While exploring typographic repetition, keep in mind the degree of repetition (few or many), and whether the repetition calls for random or pattern.
