Facilities

The Graphic Communications Department provides a wide variety of
equipment and workspaces. Students can use vintage letter-
presses,
traditional offset presses or on-demand, digital color printers.
As a result, students receive a rich educational experience
that spans the entire creative process, beginning with ideation,
through professional production practices, to high-end output.
Facilities span two campuses, Mission and Ocean. Each campus focuses on a different aspect
of the graphic communications field.
The Ocean campus hosts courses in graphic design, computer software and
letterpress. The design and letterpress courses are held in classrooms
arranged for interactionand adjacent to three computer
labs. This allows instruction to segue from design conception to
design production. The computer labs are packed with powerful Apple
Macintosh computers, each of which is equipped with software currently
used in the industry.
The Mission campus hosts printing and beginning computer classes.
Facilities include offset printing presses, a traditional large format
camera, and a state-of-the-art color digital printer with adjacent computer
labs.
With small class sizes, one computer per student in digital classes,
and a wide range of course offerings including evening, weekend and online courses, the Graphic Communications Department at CCSF offers an outstanding educational
experience.
