CCSF Spring 2012 Segments

Senior Collections in Fashion Show
What: CCSF Fashion Show Senior Collections Jurying
When: Friday, February 10th, 3-6 pm
Where: Fashion Office, Batmale Hall Room 210, Ocean campus
CCSF students may apply to be one of three designers to be showcased with complete Collections at the annual CCSF Fashion Show at Ruby Skye. The
Academy of Art University 2 year scholarship winner will be chosen from these three designers*
Applicants will present their Collections using sketches, garments, mock-ups, mood or fabric boards at the jurying on Feb 10th.
Please note that ALL aspects of the design process- illustration, patternmaking, draping and sewing must be personally done by the applicant.
Diane Green and Fashion Department instructors will choose 3 designers to complete their Collections and be showcased in the Fashion Show based on these presentations. Each selected Designer will work with a faculty mentor to develop their work for the show.
Collections will be judged on the following:
~ Cohesiveness of Design Vision
~ Originality and Style
~ Quality of Construction and Materials
~ Ability to Complete the Work
Collections must include:
~ At least 5 head to toe looks, presented through garments or sketches or both. Sketches may be on figure or
flats. More are encouraged.
~ A fabric board and mood board (color/ inspiration board)
~ A minimum of one sewn garment to demonstrate skill, original design encouraged.
~ Student’s collections do not need to fit within the Trend Categories of the Fashion Show
~ Levi Strauss has generously donated $2500 to our annual fashion show, in gratitude one of the senior collection
garments in the show should be made of denim.
All applicants must be:
~ Currently enrolled at CCSF
~ Able to attend all important dates and meetings related to the Fashion Show
~ Within 2 semesters of finishing a Certificate from CCSF or having completed the following courses:
FASH 15A Construction 1, FASH 15B Construction 2, FASH 22 Textile Analysis, FASH 23 Fashion History,
FASH 26 Flat Pattern1, FASH 27 Draping, FASH 35A Illustration1, FASH 36 Fashion Design.
Presentations:
~ Each Applicant will have 5-10 minutes to present their work
~ Students need to sign up with Diane Green on drgreen@ccsf.edu to reserve a time slot
*CCSF has a pledge of a 2 year scholarship from AAU, however, circumstances are subject to change.
