Barbara Stewart began working as an ESL instructor for CCSF in 1978. After many years of teaching, she became active in developing educational technology and helped draft the 1997 Education Technology Master Plan. Subsequently, she became coordinator of the Technology Learning Center. In her later years, Barbara became interested in digital photography and shared this interest with her colleagues through her TLC workshops. Possessing a keen eye and great sense of composition, Barbara won a number of awards for her photographs. During her brief retirement from the College, she refined her art through the many photography trips and classes she participated in. The Barbara Stewart Memorial Photography Scholarship will enable deserving students to do the same.
The Barbara Stewart Scholarship Fund was established by a small group of Barbara's friends and admirers. Our goal is to build an endowment fund which will generate a number of $250-$500 scholarships each year. The decision was made to offer the scholarships to photography students because of Barbara's love of the medium.
Your donation to the the Barbara Stewart Scholarship Fund is tax deductible. Please make your check payable to the Foundation of CCSF and write "Barbara Stewart Scholarship" in the memo section. Donations can be delivered to the ESL Department Office, Batmale 616 or mailed to the ESL Dept. Chair, Greg Keech, box L248 (CSSF, 50 Phelan Av, 94112).
