All registered CCSF online and telecourse students should receive a student ID in the mail. This student ID should have a bar code. The bar code number is printed right below it. If you have not received one, you may ask for one at Registration, Smith Hall, Room 118, Ocean Campus.
This bar code number gives you access to our periodical and reference databases. These databases are proprietary and not freely available on the Web. They contain scholarly and popular periodical articles (many of which are full text), the full text of author biography and literary critism, full-text research reports from the Congressional Quarterly, and country background information from the database "Country Watch." They are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are accessing them from home or somewhere off-campus, you will be asked to enter your bar code number.
Your student ID and bar code also allows you to check out books from any of the CCSF Libraries.
Need help accessing our databases or research advice? Email eref@ccsf.edu or call the library during our open hours: 415-452-5541.
