- In 2007 CCSF's Department of Child Development and Family Studies, with funding from the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families, will conduct several focus groups and interviews with family child care providers and their employees. The purpose of this research will be to develop strategies that will encourage family child care assistants to participate more in current training activities. A summary of the results of this study will be available in August 2007.
- In 2006 CCSF's Department of Child Development and Family Studies, with funding from the Department of Children, Youth and their Families, conducted a Focus Group Study to assess the training needs of family child care providers in San Francisco. The focus group study served as an update to the needs assessment survey that was adminnistered in 2003. For more information click here.

The National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC) Microenterprise Project aims to provide resources for the child care community to help them improve their businesses. - In 2006, The City College Child Development Department welcomed
Zenya Moon, the new point person for the Family Child Care Training
Initiative. Zenya came to us with many years of experience in the child
development field, most recently as a Coordinator for the SF CARES
Program. In this new role, she assisted with outreach, provided
information about all kinds of trainings and ensured that family child
care providers had access to all the classes that they needed.

- In April of 2004, during the Week of the Young Child, CCSF hosted a provider celebration to recognize the training and educational
