Special 2YC3 Rates

Special 2YC3 room rates are available at the following two hotels. (Please note the varying proximity to CCSF and available methods of public transportation.) These hotels are significantly more economical than those listed by ACS. However, they do not offer as convenient access to fast and easy public transportation as many of the downtown hotels.

Hampton Inn Daly City, 2700 Junipero Serra Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015; (650) 755-7500; fax: (650) 755-9400; Hampton Inn brochure

2YC3 rate $99 single/double occupancy--reserve by 2/19/2010; free parking; 3.7 miles from CCSF.

Directions to CCSF:
By public transportation (28 minutes): approximately 12-minute (likely very non-scenic) walk to the Colma-BART station, take BART to the Balboa-BART station, walk from Balboa Park Station to the CCSF Wellness Center (approximately 6 minutes).
See directions from Balboa BART station.

By car (6 minutes):  go south on Junipero Serra Blvd, sharp left onto I-280 north, exit Geneva Ave and turn left, left on Ocean, take first right onto Phelan Ave.

Days Inn San Francisco at the Beach, 2600 Sloat Blvd; San Francisco, CA 94116; (415) 665-9000; fax: (415) 665-5440

2YC3 rate $65 single/double occupancy; free parking; 3.3 miles from CCSF.

ACS Spring 2010 Meeting Accommodations website

Official ACS hotels are listed on the above website. Please note that you do not need to enter an Access Code in the inquiry form when finding lodging online through the ACS website.

If you do some digging, you'll also find that the site lists "Economic Housing Alternatives" (listed on the Accommodations Policies page). These following three hotels are not part of the official ACS hotel block, but do have ACS rates available. You'll need to call to reserve your room.

The Mosser Hotel, 54 Fourth Street, San Francisco, CA (415) 986-4400; fax: (415) 495-7653; ACS rate $149 single/double occupancy. (Near Powell BART station.)

The Pickwick Hotel, 85 Fifth Street, San Francisco, CA (415) 421-7500‎; fax: (415) 546-9545; ACS rate $129 single/double occupancy. (Near Powell BART station.)

Holiday Inn San Francisco, 50 Eighth Street, San Francisco, CA (415) 626-6103; fax: (415) 552-0184; ACS rate $169 single/double occupancy. (Near Civic Center BART station.)

Directions to City College from downtown hotels:
By public transportation (approximately 20 minutes): From any of these hotels, go to the nearest BART station, take BART to the Balboa-BART station, walk from Balboa Park Station to the CCSF Wellness Center (approximately 6 minutes).
See directions from Balboa BART station.

Comments Regarding Hotel Choice

If you plan to have a car while in San Francisco, the Hampton Inn and Days Inn may prove more convenient than the downtown hotels (free parking and less traffic!)

If you are flying into SFO and plan to rely on public transportation during your stay, the downtown hotels will be significantly more convenient. Many are located near BART stations. Note that the areas around the Powell St. station (Powell and Market) and the Montgomery station (Montgomery and Market) are a bit more pleasant than the area around the Civic Center station (Market and 8th), but all are convenient. City College is walking distance from the Balboa BART station. The Friday dinner banquet will be located within walking distance of the Powell and Montgomery BART stations.
