Conference Accommodations
Special 2YC3 RatesSpecial 2YC3 room rates are available at the following two hotels. (Please note the varying proximity to CCSF and available methods of public transportation.) These hotels are significantly more economical than those listed by ACS. However, they do not offer as convenient access to fast and easy public transportation as many of the downtown hotels.
Special ACS RatesACS Spring 2010 Meeting Accommodations website Official ACS hotels are listed on the above website. Please note that you do not need to enter an Access Code in the inquiry form when finding lodging online through the ACS website. If you do some digging, you'll also find that the site lists "Economic Housing Alternatives" (listed on the Accommodations Policies page). These following three hotels are not part of the official ACS hotel block, but do have ACS rates available. You'll need to call to reserve your room.
Directions to City College from downtown hotels:
Comments Regarding Hotel ChoiceIf you plan to have a car while in San Francisco, the Hampton Inn and Days Inn may prove more convenient than the downtown hotels (free parking and less traffic!) If you are flying into SFO and plan to rely on public transportation during your stay, the downtown hotels will be significantly more convenient. Many are located near BART stations. Note that the areas around the Powell St. station (Powell and Market) and the Montgomery station (Montgomery and Market) are a bit more pleasant than the area around the Civic Center station (Market and 8th), but all are convenient. City College is walking distance from the Balboa BART station. The Friday dinner banquet will be located within walking distance of the Powell and Montgomery BART stations.
If you have any questions regarding accommodations, please contact Malinda Pauly, mpauly@ccsf.edu.
