Terri Winston
Faculty

Terri Winston is the Broadcast Electronic Media Arts Department's new full-time tenure-track instructor. Ms. Winston teaches audio production, digital media skills, and the recording arts, and she coordinates BEMA sound design/production curriculum, the department
scholarship program, and the department's industry advisory meetings.

Terri Winston's love for music and the recording arts spans 15 years as a composer, recording engineer, and producer in the music industry. Her professional credits include collaboration with Lenny Kaye of the "Patti Smith Group" and Greg Hawkes of "The Cars".  Winston was a recording artist, producer and engineer with Polygram and BMG, and has shared the stage with such acts as P.J. Harvey, Pixies, Throwing Muses, Flaming Lips, Fugazi, and Third Eye Blind. She most recently produced the London all girl band  "Vyvyan" and worked as a recording artist and producer for MainMan whose roster includes David Bowie, Lou Reed, & Iggy Pop. Winston has composed and produced theme music for KRON-TV's "First Cut" and Banana Republic. She is a two-time National Lilith Fair Tour finalist for solo performance, has received numerous awards, and has been invited to sit on panels for the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences. After Winston earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, she worked as an electrical engineer, computer systems and broadcast technician, computer consultant, a tutor for developmentally disabled students in mathematics, a community college instructor in mathematics, audio production, and digital media skills. Winston served as coordinator/engineer/curriculum designer/instructor for Youth Industry Project's digital recording arts program for homeless youth in San Francisco.
