Marla
received her BA in Psychology from UC Davis, a Graduate Certificate in
Film and Video from University of California, Southern California, and
her Masters in Broadcast Communication Arts form San Francisco State University,1993.
Her
video "Strings Attached" aired on KQED-TV, and KCSM-TV in 1999, and her
video "Tranny TV" played at San Francisco's Trannyfest. Currently she is
working on a video about the women's American Basketball League. She has
produced and directed several short super 8 films, 16mm films, and numerouse
video projects.
Marla's
honors include:

student EMMY Award for BEST MUSIC VIDEO, West Coast.

scholarship from NATAS for her student production work.

She has
had several videoproductions playing in film and video festivals around
the globe.
In addition
Marla is a musician, playing drums & the guitar. A few of her past

Curently,
Marla plays the jembe with an all women percussion performing group. She
is an avid collector of videotapes on the representation of gender and
sexuality and frequently teaches classes on the topic.
