Biology instructors will be awarding 6 scholarships in Spring 2009 !

Vic Chow

Scholarship

in Biology

$200, open to all students in Biology.

 

Minimum requirements:  •current enrollment at CCSF, •successful completion of a Biology course at CCSF, •completion of 24 units at CCSF with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

John Hare

Scholarship

for Biology majors

New scholarship: $300, open to all students majoring in Biology.

 

Minimum requirements:  •current enrollment at CCSF, •successful completion of Bio 101A or 101B at CCSF, •completion of 12 units at CCSF with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, •plans to major in the Biological Sciences at a university.

Ed Gin

Scholarship

in Biotechnology

$200, open to students in the Biotechnology program or currently working in

the Biology or Chemistry storerooms.

 

Minimum requirements:  •completion of 12 units with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, •current enrollment in a Bio or Chem course, •completion or enrollment in a Btec course (incl. Bio 60, 65, Chem 50, 52) or a current lab aide for the Bio or Chem Dept.

Joan Stewart

Scholarship

in Physiology

$150, open to students in physiology, nursing, or health.

 

Minimum requirements:  •completion of two Biology Dept. courses (or current enrollment in a second course), •plans to enter a Registered Nursing program or to major in Physiology or Health at a university.

Kathleen Gould

Scholarship

in Health

$250, open to self-supporting mothers with dependent children and

majoring in health or biology.

 

Other requirements:  •completion of 24 units at CCSF with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, •plans to major in Health or Biology at a university.

Helen MacCollister

Scholarship

in Nutrition

$400, open to students in Nutrition.

 

Minimum requirements:  •completion or current enrollment in Nutr 12, •completion of Physio 1 or 12 with a ‘B’ grade, •completion of 12 units at CCSF with a GPA of 2.8, •plans to major in Nutrition or Dietetics at a university.

Return to the Scholarship Office in Batmale-366 by Friday March 27th

If you have already submitted an application to the Scholarship Office,

it is not necessary to submit another one to be considered for these scholarships.

 

These memorial scholarships were established to honor past members of the Biology Dept.

All scholarship awards are subject to change, pending the availability of funding.
