Course description:
Instruct students in First Responder procedures who may arrive first on scene to a medical or trauma related emergency. Students will learn patient assessment skills that include initial and secondary surveys. Some of the skills include CPR techniques and how to stabilize patients until more advanced EMS personnel arrive. First Responders have limited equipment, but through training and maintaining skills can save a life! First Responders will also report to advanced EMT personnel what they found related to the patient’s condition and what they did to treat the victim and how the victim responded to these interventions.
