Degree Curriculum

Program Information. The Speech Communication Program provides instruction in developing communication skills essential for communicating in interpersonal, group and public settings. The Program is designed to meet student needs for certificate, major and transfer goals as well as personal and career growth.

Degree Curriculum. The Degree Curriculum in Speech Communication is a two-year course of study designed to expose students to a wide range of topics in the discipline of speech communication. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with practical experience. Students who complete the curriculum satisfactorily are better prepared to transfer to the CSU-System, the UC-System and private four-year schools with the intent of majoring in Speech Communication, Communication Studies, Rhetoric, and/or Speech and Communication. Specific major requirements at the university may vary. Students are advised to review major requirments at the college to which they plan to transfer by checking www.assist.org.
