  • Windows XP
  • Word Processing and Document Production using Microsoft Word

Office Technology Certification
Students may enroll in individual courses or may choose to follow a series of courses leading to a Program Certificate in Word Processing and/or Office Assistant. The Office Technology certificate programs are designed to allow participants the flexibility of four semesters in which to study and successfully complete the curriculum. Program certification may enhance job opportunities by indicating to prospective employers that the student has successfully mastered skills essential to sound clerical, office, and administrative support.

ESL Literacy Program
Literacy classes are offered in the Visitacion Valley for those who have had limited (up through elementary school) or no formal education in their native country, as well as for those who have limited ability to read and write in their native language or who do not know the English alphabet. Literacy classes are available in English and Chinese and are designed primarily for Chinese speakers.

ESL Citizenship Program

Citizenship classes are offered on weekends for those students who need to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship test given by the Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS).

ESL Citizenship (Lower Level)
66 Raymond Avenue
This citizenship class prepares low-level, ESL students to pass the citizenship exams given by the Immigration and Naturalization Services in order for them to become American citizens. In addition to the use of a textbook, students are given teacher-prepared materials. Volunteer college students from San Francisco State University and San Francisco City College in Projects Shine and Sail as well as other programs are recruited to maximize the student's learning opportunities by providing individualized coaching and mock interview sessions. Our students' passing rate is very high; therefore, many new recruits are referred by successful former students. We encourage our new citizens to vote and be involved residents in their own communities.
