The Transitional Studies Department offers a complete day and evening program of classes that include adult basic education, reading and essay writing classes. These courses provide an opportunity for students to improve skills in reading, grammar/composition and math in English and/or Spanish leading to a General Education Development Program (GED) certificate. When students have mastered the course of study, they are referred to the City College GED Testing Center. Tests are available in English and in Spanish. Each year over one hundred students who complete their courses and tests participate in our yearly graduation ceremonies.
