Noncredit Office Technology Certificate Program

Office Technology refers to courses and certificate programs which provide training for the modern office. This comprehensive title includes such courses and subject areas as accounting, business, English and Communication, job preparation, keyboarding, shorthand, and word processing. Office Technology programs usually cover two years, are paced to the student's time and ability, and produce a certificate that gain entry to upper level credit course or other programs.

Non-Credit Certificate Programs


Administrative Assistant


Business Students
Program Goal: Prepare students for entry and mid-level administrative support and related positions requiring intermediate to advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and database.
  • Entrance Advisory: 25 net words per minute (wpm).
  • Exit Requirements: Successful completion of all courses with a grade B or higher. (Students may not repeat a class more than once. 50 net words per minute (wpm)

Note: Not all courses required for this certificate program are offered at every campus. It may be necessary to attend more than one campus in order to complete the program.

Clerical Assistant


Student
Program Goal: Prepare students for entry and mid-level clerical positions requiring word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and/or other computer applications.
  • Entrance Advisory: 25 net words per minute (wpm).
  • Exit Requirements: Successful completion of all courses with a grade B or higher. (Students may not repeat a class more than once. 45 net words per minute (wpm)

Note: Not all courses required for this certificate program are offered at every campus. It may be necessary to attend more than one campus in order to complete the program.

Construction Administrative Assistant


Students
Program Goal: The Construction Administrative Assistant Program prepares students for a key position in the construction industry. Students stud the basic procedures of this industry, terminology, filing systems, jobsite office operation, message handing, contractor communications, work order prioritization, project control reporting and project database information entry, retrieval and maintenance. This program can be completed in two semesters.
  • Entrance Advisory: 25 net words per minute (wpm).
  • Exit Requirements: Successful completion of all courses with a grade B or higher. (Students may not repeat a class more than once. 50 net words per minute (wpm)
