What is Non Credit? A great way to learn!

The Non Credit ESL Program offers a variety of free classes. Classes are offered Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons, and Monday through Thursday evenings, and some weekends in San Francisco

1) General Non Credit ESL:

These classes improve English language skills for immigrants living and working in the United States. These classes also prepare students for further college work in subjects such as hotel management, business, medicine, computer technology and more.

We have ten levels of instruction from Literacy, and Beginning (Level 1) to high intermediate (Level 9).

Most classes are 2 hours a day, 10 hours a week and focus on all four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.One-hour a day, five-hour a week classes which focus on a specific skill such as Listening, or Pronunciation. Intensive non-credit ESL courses are also available. We only give short, helpful homework: you learn mostly in school. We do not give grades.

Students may enroll in more than one class.

2) Vocational ESL

These classes improve English for getting a job. The classes help your improve on-the-job skills or prepare for a specific job field.

Our classes include: Computers for ESL, ESL Office Occupations, and Communication on the job.

3) Citizenship Classes

We help students prepare for the citizenship exam.
