Board of Trustees

The Community College District is under the control and management of a Governing Board composed of seven members who are elected by the voters of the Community College District.
A student representative serves on the Governing Board in accordance with state law. The Chancellor serves ex-officio as Chief Executive Officer of the Board. See Policy Manuals.

The Board, on behalf of the citizens of the College District, ensures the accountability of City College of San Francisco through:
  • Fulfillment of the College mission within the guidelines of the College philosophy by means of the financial and human resources available
  • Promotion of appropriate activities, conditions and decisions
  • Scrupulous self-monitoring of its processes and performances
  • Assuring compliance with all applicable state and federal statutes
The Board holds a minimum of eleven regular meetings and eleven work sessions each year.
