You can check the deadline date in the Class Schedule or the
Calendar of Instruction.
-

You need to fill out a Late Add Form.
-
Where can I get a Late Add Form?
You can pick up the Late Add Form at the Admissions and Records Office,

Check the Calendar of Instruction.
-

No. Only at the main Phelan campus.
-
What should I do if the class is full before I can register?
You need to attend the first day of that particular class with your
registration ticket and an Add/Drop Form and check with the instructor.
If there is an opening in the class, the instructor will provide you with
an Add Code Sticker for your Add/Drop Form. You can then turn in the
Add/Drop Form at the
Registration Center
See the Add/Drop Procedure Web page
for more details.
NOTE! Make SURE you bring your registration appointment ticket to the
first day of class! Instructors who have a waiting list for students to
enroll in their class are required to enroll students based on their
registration appointment date. The instructor CANNOT enroll you ahead of
students with registration appointment tickets unless you can show your
ticket and prove your registration appointment date. The instructor does
NOT have access to student registration information in class, so the only
way he can enroll you is if you bring your registration appointment ticket.
-
What should I do if I have a time conflict between two of my classes?
Go to the Registration Center
and get a Time Conflict form. Bring it to the instructors for both of your
classes and get them to sign it. Then bring it to the Department chair and
get them to sign it. Turn the form in to the
Registration Center together
with your Add/Drop form or Late Add form.

-
Is there a deadline for fee payments?
We advise you to pay for your classes right after you have registered to
prevent holds being put on your records. But if you cannot pay the full
amount immediately, you can just pay as much as you can. If you haven't
paid the full amount by mid-term, a hold will be placed on your records.
See the Billing and
Payments Web page for more details.
-
If I can't pay the full amount of my fees, will I be dropped from my
classes?
No. A hold will be placed on your records for an outstanding balance. This
will prevent you from getting access to your account for purposes such as
registering for the next semester or checking your unofficial transcript.

The payment plans available only apply to students who are non-resident or
international students.

Registration Process Questions:
-
Do I need to resubmit my application if I did not register for classes
during the last semester?
Yes.
-
What do I need to do before I register for classes as a new student?
First you need to submit your application to attend City College. You can
do it online or in person at the Admissions and Record office. You must
also complete the Matriculation Process before you can receive an
appointment to register.
See the Credit Admissions
Web page for details.
-
Do I have to see a counselor before I can register for classes?
Yes - for new students.
See the Credit Admissions
Web page for details.
Registration Date Questions:
-
What is my registration appointment date?
If you are a continuing student - that is, you have already attended one
semester at City College - you will receive your appointment date by mail.
If you are a new student, you will be given your appointment date once
you have completed the Matriculation process. See the
Credit Admissions
Web page for details.
-
How is the WebSTARS registration appointment date determined?
The longer you are a student at City College, the earlier your registration
date will be. Also, certain classes of students - those receiving EOPS
counseling, or athletics department students, for example - may receive
earlier registration dates.
-
If I have a late registration appointment date and then have a hard
time getting registered in the classes I want, what can I do?
Use the Add/Drop Process to register for classes. Frequently a class that
is full before the first day of school will experience a number of
student cancellations in the first couple of weeks after the start
of school. You should go to the first class session and ask the instructor if
you can add the class, or ask to be added to the instructor's waiting list.

Hold Questions:
-
Why is there a hold on my records? How will it affect my account?
A hold simply means that there is something wrong with your records (e.g.,
an outstanding balance, invalid mailing address, etc.) While you have a
hold, you cannot access your personal information or register for the next
semester.
Financial Aid Questions:
-
Please see the
Financial Aid
Web page for information about financial aid.
Health Fee Questions:
-
Why do I need to pay a Health fee?
The Health fee is mandated by the State of California. Every student is
required to pay it.
-
Can I waive the Health fee if I have insurance?
No, because your personal insurance is different from the required
insurance on campus.
ID Card Questions:
-
Why do I have the word "VOID" on my student ID card?
Because you have already had one ID card mailed to you or you acquired
one in person from the Registration Center. Duplicate ID cards are not
mailed to you with your Student Schedule/Bill.
-
If I lose my student ID card or have never received one in the mail,
where can I get one?
Go to the Registration Center.
